Watch and listen to an overview of the state of streetlights in the Yalecrest neighborhood, discussed at the Yalecrest Neighborhood Council meeting June 2, chaired by Toby Larsen and presented by Lynn Pershing.
Highlights include: the significant differences in style and materials between city-owned and property-owned street lights—there are 8-12 different street lighting styles in Salt Lake and three different styles in Yalecrest; Salt Lake City has updated the Street Lighting Master Plan; Black and McDonald, hired by the city to assist with lighting maintenance and repair of city-owned lights, has replaced some damaged concrete poles but are merely filling in others with epoxy to stabilize the structures (they are not currently repairing the original luminaries, cages, folium or finials)
